As Project Administrative Assistant at Seattle Public Schools, I developed and executed comprehensive marketing strategy for the Seattle Skills Center, managing campaigns across diverse career and technical education programs including maritime careers, digital audio production, healthcare pathways, and skilled trades.
The role required creating marketing materials that would resonate with Seattle's diverse student population while addressing systemic barriers to participation in career and technical education. I developed campaigns for programs ranging from maritime exploration experiences to digital audio boot camps, each requiring unique messaging while maintaining consistent brand identity.
Working directly with students, families, and community partners, I created materials that not only promoted programs but also provided clear pathways for students to envision their futures in various career fields. The marketing approach emphasized accessibility, removing financial barriers and providing multiple application methods including QR codes for easy mobile access.
Key programs I marketed included the "Ready, Set, Sail!" maritime career exploration series, digital audio production boot camps in partnership with Totem Star, and various seasonal break programs designed to give students hands-on experience in their areas of interest.
The comprehensive marketing initiatives significantly increased program diversity and helped establish Seattle Skills Center as a model for inclusive career and technical education. The campaigns successfully broke down barriers to participation and created pathways for students from all backgrounds to explore career opportunities. Many students who participated through these outreach efforts have gone on to successful careers in maritime, digital media, healthcare, and skilled trades.
Let's discuss how I can bring this same strategic approach to your organization's projects.
